Afternoon at Moraine Lake

Private Collection

"Afternoon at Moraine Lake" Oil 18"x24" by Brett Thuma. Moraine Lake is in Banff National Park Alberta Canada and is one of the most beautiful places in that region. Brett was there from sunrise until about 2:45 in the afternoon and this portrays a beautiful autumn day about 2:30 pm when the sun had climbed high enough to illuminate the tourquoise water. The color is created by sunlight refracting off "glacial flour" - particles in the water from melting glaciers.
